SOMA is a six-night immersion in embodied compassion, relational presence, and grounded responsiveness, held in the highlands of Bali from August 1–7, 2026. This retreat is a collaboration between Kindful and DEYÀ Retreats, bringing together Kindful’s integration of compassion science and contemplative practice with DEYÀ’s devotion to carefully chosen places, ritual, and immersive experience.
We are living in a time that asks much of us. Many thoughtful, caring people find themselves stretched between engagement and exhaustion — wanting to remain open to the world without becoming overwhelmed by it. SOMA was created in response to this tension. Through somatic inquiry, Gestalt dialogue, contemplative practice, and time in nature, the retreat strengthens your capacity to stay present to your own experience while remaining connected to others.
Co-led by Dr Amy Finlay-Jones and Gestalt practitioner and wilderness guide Steven Harper, SOMA weaves contemporary psychology, mindfulness, and deep ecological awareness into an experiential week of practice and integration. Participants are supported to cultivate embodied compassion — a form of care that is grounded, discerning, and sustainable — and to develop greater clarity in how they relate, lead, create, and serve.
Held at Desa Seni in Baturiti, the retreat unfolds within gardens, rice fields, and restored traditional homes, with nourishing seasonal meals and space for rest, ritual, creative practice, and personal reflection. SOMA is designed for therapists, leaders, creatives, and thoughtful humans who long to live with greater depth, steadiness, and connection in a complex world.
SOMA is hosted and booked through DEYÀ Retreats. Click Learn More to be taken to their website.
